Five Awards for Packaging Redesign

In the final stage of the project "Redesign-Creating New Brands" Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) selected five most original packaging solutions. Student- designers were awarded 50,000 RSD each, provided by Telekom Serbia, as a supporter of the project. The awarded designs, as well as the ones that entered the final round of the contest will be exhibited in the O3ON gallery from January 12-14, 2010.

 

The chosen designs are as follows: for the silk damask producer Novitet Dunav company, by Sonja Pavlovic, student of the Fine Arts University and Nikola Bajcic, student of Belgrade Polytechnic University, men's underwear Boa for the Bogutovo company, by Nikola Bajcic  from the Belgrade Polytechnic University, tea filter spoons  Teasy for the company  Adonis, by Ivan Paradinovic from the Fine Arts University, floor disinfectant  Eko Steril for the Midra Eko company, by Milos Jovanovic from the Fine Arts University and salty crackers Ovsi for the Vanja Lux company, by Milos Todorovic  from the Fine Arts University.

 

The expert committee deciding on the winners included: Sasa Veljkovic, Professor at the Economic University and expert for branding, Slobodan Manojlovic, Professor at the Fine Arts University in Belgrade, expert for industrial design, Jelena Drobac, Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic University in Belgrade, expert for industrial design, representatives of the companies whose products are being redesigned and Vesna Peric, Director of SIEPA, as a President of the Committee.

 

SIEPA initiated the project  "Redesign - Creating New Brands" in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Agency for Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Serbia and Serbian Chamber of Commerce. The aim of the project was to improve visual identity of the Serbian companies through the redesign of packaging, as this is a very important segment for the products that will be exported. Moreover, the project benefits design students in terms of offering practical experience in packaging design.
