Bozidar Laganin graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Belgrade University in Belgrade, Serbia. He furthered his education and obtained valuable expertise through more advanced programs in the country and abroad, such as PACA program; GTZ, Germany (Local Economic Development), JICA, Japan (Program for Promotion of Investment); the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, Austria (Program for Promotion of investment), and Harvard University (Harvard Kennedy School) - 21st Century Governance.
He started his professional career in June 2004 as a Foreign Investment Consultant at the Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA). Creation of a network of over 100 local partner agencies of SIEPA, which was supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and raising the investment capacity of Serbian cities and municipalities through the regional accreditation program implemented in cooperation with the World Bank (WB) were some of the main projects Bozidar worked on.
From 2007 to 2008, he was a Special Advisor to the Director of SIEPA. His duties were to negotiate the conditions of realization of the largest investment projects, and to coordinate activities related to government and public affairs.
Since 2008, he worked as an Advisor to the Minister in the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society on the promotion of foreign direct investments in the sector of telecommunications and information technologies, and the development of laws and regulations which regulate the telecommunications sector. In particular, he was responsible for strategic projects of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in the telecommunications sector implemented by the Ministry. In October 2009 he was appointed as State Secretary in the Ministry.
Mr. Laganin was appointed as Director of SIEPA in June 2010. |
