Efficient Transportation

By air you can easily reach all parts of Europe within 2 hours and all international destinations are available either directly or with a layover.

Air Transport

One can reach Serbia by air using one of the two available international airports in Serbia - Belgrade Airport and Nis Airport.

The ease of traveling from Belgrade to almost every destination in the world, either directly or with a layover, is provided by all the major international airlines. Jat Airways, as a national air carrier, carries out schedule and charter flights for passengers, cargo, and mail on domestic and international lines. The following international air companies regularly fly to and from Belgrade: Adria Airways, Aeroflot Russian Airlines, Air Blatic, Air France, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, Aviogenex, Cimber Sterling,  Croatia Airlines, Czech Airlines, Gazpromavia, Germanwings, Jat Airways (Serbian air company), LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa German Airlines, Malev Hungarian Airlines, Montenegro Airlines, Niki Lufthart, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Olympic Air, SpanAir, Swiss International Air Lines, Tarom Romania Air Transport, Tunisair, Turkish Airlines, and Wizz Air.

Once in Belgrade, the airport Nikola Tesla is located only 18 km away from downtown and, by taking a highway, it takes no longer than 20 minutes to reach the heart of the city. The road network connects the airport with major international roads E-75 and E-70 (Zagreb, Nis, Novi Sad, Subotica, etc.).

Air traffic to Nis is less frequent, yet still provides a good international connection to the city.  www.nis-airport.com

In addition, six companies are currently providing air taxi services and two of them organize charter flights to various international destinations.

More information on air transport is available at: www.jat.com and www.beg.aero.

Within a city, one can commute using public transportation, taxi or rent-a-car.

The cost of taxi services varies from one city to another. In Belgrade, the start costs around €1.38, while the price per kilometer is €0.68. Taxi costs in other major cities are significantly lower.

Tolls for major highways

The cost of renting a car is similar to that in other countries and depends on the type of a car and duration of a renting period.

When traveling cross-country by a car, one should have in mind the prices of fuel and tolls. Fuel prices are at the level of those in the neighboring countries, ranging between €1.25 for diesel and €1.17 for petrol.

The Cost of Taxi Service

For parking in downtown Belgrade, one can use a designated area or parking lots. A street parking spot can be used only up to 3 hours on working days and Saturdays, while on Sundays it is free. As for the parking lots, the fee is around €0.4 per hour.
