High Productivity
Productivity in Serbia has been on a steady rise in recent years. The growth was particularly impressive in 2006 with increase in industrial productivity of 13.5%. There is a strong relation between foreign investment and labor performance–industries with largest FDI inflow, such as tobacco, food and beverages, and chemicals were among the leaders in productivity improvement. A good example is a Tetra Pak plant in Central Serbia named the best company’s plant in the world by printing efficiency in 2005.
